50 Cent is receiving rave reviews for Power, the Starz TV series with Omari Hardwick for which 50 is executive producer. Now the rapper has apparently let slip his next screen project, a film about the Black Mafia Family, an infamous drug cartel brought down by federal law enforcement in the 2000s.
Fifty shared on his Instagram page, “I’m out of control now, watch my next move. STRATEGY #smsaudio #animalambition #power” under a picture relating to the movie, reported MTV News, although the post has been removed. According to MTV News, the film will be titled B.M.F.: Welcome to the South.
BMF was a cocaine-trafficking ring founded in Detroit in the 1980s by brothers Demetrius and Terry Flenory. In 2008 they were sentenced to 30 years in prison.
50 Cent is also riding high in the music world as his new CD Animal Ambition recently debuted at number one on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Album chart. The album, featuring Trey Songz, Yo Gotti, Jadakiss, Styles P, and ScHoolboy Q, is his first independent release since leaving Interscope Records last year.
