SAN ANTONIO — LeBron James was cool, comfortable and red hot, all at the same time, as the NBA Finals on Sunday night went from sauna-like conditions in the opener to a perfect setting for the best player on the planet.
With the AT&T Center’s air conditioning system functioning properly, James was just plain scorching, scoring 35 points in Miami’s 98-96 victory over the Spurs to tie the series at 1-1.
James overcame his Game 1 bouts with severe cramps in his left leg, as the Heat rebounded off a playoff loss for the 13th straight time since 2012. In one stretch, James made 13 of 17 shots, including six straight from the perimeter in the third quarter.
