The End Of Football Was Just His Begininning

Rumors started swirling that Michael Strahan was eyeing an opening on the "Good Morning America" table, and this morning (April 2) the former NFL star confirmed the news.

While chatting with his "Live with Kelly and Michael" co-host Kelly Ripa, Strahan explained that he did accept a part-time hosting gig on the ABC talk show.

"The big news is that I'm gonna be on GMA now," Michael said after talking about the story's leak. "So what is so surprising is I had a meeting, and we talked about the possibility there. Then I went to see Captain America with Samuel L. Jackson, and I get out of screening and I check my messages and I'm on Good Morning America."

The 42-year-old will reportedly work during the first hour of "GMA" and still co-host his program with Kelly. "I don't think I could do it every day. I have a lot going on. I have to be smart about it," he added.

In regards to "Live," Michael assured the audience and said, "I just want everyone to know and you to know that no matter what, this is my number one priority, and you are my number one priority, and I would never do anything to jeopardize the quality of what I do here."

Kelly quipped, "That is exactly how we rehearsed it backstage."
