HIJACKING: Co-Pilot Threatens His Own Passengers

The co-pilot of an Ethiopian Airlines jet is in custody after he allegedly hijacked his own flight.

Authorities say the co-pilot locked himself in the cockpit while the pilot was in the bathroom and took control of the flight which was en route from Ethiopia to Rome. He landed it safely in Geneva, Switzerland and tried to escaped down a rope from the cockpit window but was captured by police.

None of the 193 passengers on board were hurt. Authorities believe the co-pilot, an Ethiopian, was seeking asylum in Switzerland
