JAY Z: Sued for Sample in "Run This Town"

Jay Z and his record label are being slapped with a lawsuit over the alleged use of an illegal sample.

TufAmerica Inc. served the Brooklyn rapper and his record companies with a copyright infringement lawsuit yesterday (Wednesday). According to the New York Daily News, the sample of Eddie Bo's "Hook & Sling" on "Run This Town" was used multiple times on the 2009 hit within the without permission.

According to legal documents, TufAmerica is seeking damages against Jay Z, Roc-A-Fella Records, Atlantic Recording Corp. as well as a court order to stop "further distribution and exploitation" of Eddie Bo's original tune.

This is the third complaint filed by the label against Roc-A-Fella Records in Manhattan federal court this year.
