Al Sharpton met with the CEO of Barneys New York today to discuss the recent allegations of racial profiling at the high-end retail store.

Sharpton said, "We've gone from stop and frisk to shop and frisk, and we are not going to take it ...the community should not invest consumer dollars in companies or stores that do not respect their personhood. And that is what was communicated from our side."

Two Barneys customers recently claimed they were detained by police after making expensive purchases, with one customer claiming he was accused of fraud after using his debit card to buy a $349 Ferragamo belt in April.

Barney's CEO Mark Lee said even though Barney's initial investigation showed no employees were at fault in the two incidents, the retailer doesn't tolerate discrimination and says he wants to be part of the solution.

Macy’s flagship Manhattan store also has been hit with a similar allegation.
