Jason Kidd was kidding himself last year when he thought he could drive home after pounding down a few drinks.
The Brooklyn Nets head coach pleaded guilty today (Tuesday) to misdemeanor drunken driving charges in Hampton Bays, New York. The judge sentenced Kidd to interim probation and is requiring him to speak to young drivers about the dangers of drinking and driving. Depending on how that goes, the judge will most likely lower the charge to a violation.
Kidd was heading home a year ago from a charity event where he'd apparently had a few too many drinks and slammed into a pole in his SUV. He escaped the accident with minor injuries. Kidd is due back in court September 30th for a review of his probation.
