REESE WITHERSPOON: Bails on Talk Shows

Good Morning America and Late Night With Jimmy Fallon have been left scrambling for guests today (Tuesday) -- because Reese Witherspoon has bailed on them.

Reese -- who was supposed to be making the media rounds to plug her film Mud -- is lying low following her disorderly persons arrest over the weekend. She was scheduled to tape a segment for GMA yesterday (Monday), and she was going to sit on Fallon's couch tonight. But not wanting to answer questions about her hubby Jim Toth's DUI arrest or her belligerence with the arresting officer, she's pulled out.

Apparently, the only apology we're going to hear -- at least until her May 22nd court date -- is her official statement released Sunday.
