The Louisville Cardinals have done it. Monday night with their 82-75 win over Michigan, they became the national champs and their coach, Rick Pitino, earned a place in the history books. He became the first coach to win titles for two different schools, after his first championship with Kentucky.
Louisville won the game in now typical fashion. They were down by 12 at one point in the game, but with their tenacious defensive and hot hands at the free throw line, they were able to hold off the Wolverines in the end.
Luke Hancock led the way was 22 points and made two clutch free throws with less than 30 seconds left to give the Cardinals a 80-74 lead.
And yes, Kevin Ware, the Louisville guard who broke his leg during the team's championship run, was there on the bench wearing his jersey and cheering his teammates on.
