Uncle L, who appeared last night (Sunday) on the Academy of Country Music Awards, has hooked up with country superstar Brad Paisley for the track "Accidental Racist," which attempts to look at racism from two different perspectives. The track features Paisley singing, "I'm a white man living in the southland... I'm proud of where I'm from but not everything we've done... It ain't like you and me can rewrite history... Walking over eggshells."
LL then raps, "I'd love to buy you a beer, conversate and clear the air/ But I see that red flag and I think you wish I wasn't here," before ending his verse with the lines, "If you don't judge my do-rag/ I won't judge your red flag."
The song is on Paisley's album Wheelhouse. We recently caught up with Brad, who told us that the pair first hooked up via mutual friends. He said, "He's a great, great guy. A really classy, fantastic guy. I just really like him. It's fun to work with someone like that, who's that talented. He's a brilliant lyricist, too."
