Nadya Suleman, better known as "Octomom," has checked into rehab for prescription drug addiction and to deal with "anxiety, exhaution and stress," a rep confirms to ABC News.
The 37-year-old Suleman entered the Chapman House Treatment Center in California last week.
In a statement to ABC News, her rep said, "Ms. Suleman has been taking Xanax that was prescribed by her doctor to deal with her anxiety but she felt she needed a treatment program to help with her recovery. She will be in treatment for 28 days or more if needed."
The rep said the rehab facility offered to treat Suleman free-of-charge, but she declined their offer and "opted to pay for the program."
Suleman's 14 children will be cared for by three nannies and a few friends over the next month, or until she makes a full recovery.
