14 year old beaten and shot to death by 3 Teens

14 year old, Alexis Kane, was shot multiple times by each of the suspects, who have been charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action.

Dominic "Nick" McDaniel, 18, and Issac M. "Malik" Carter and Ce-Antonyo D. Kennedy, both 17, have been charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action for the alleged brutal beating and shooting death of the 14-year-old girl.

Alexis Kane's body was found Jan. 11 outside the Bay Waterpark not far from Smith-Hale Middle School, where Alexis was a student. According to the report, several 9 mm shells were found at the crime scene.

Surveillance video shows that Alexis got into a vehicle with two of the suspects at a convenience store. Her friends said that she had agreed to meet with Malik via Facebook. The friends said that they told Alexis not to get into the car, and they followed the vehicle but lost sight of her.

Waterpark surveillance footage shows one of the boys hitting Alexis in the face with a gun, KCTV notes. After that, the others passed around the gun, shooting the young girl multiple times.

The three suspects are being held on a bond of $500,000. It reportedly took more than 100 local and federal officers to locate the three suspects.

"There is just no sense to this. I can't give you a motive. It's senseless. A 14-year-old is no longer with us. I cannot give you a reason that makes any sense," Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker said.
