Event Description

On Friday, November 4th, and running through the end of the month, the impressive work of the O’More College of Design community will be on display as part of a special art show. The show, which opens at 6 p.m., will include a wide range of media, subjects and styles, and will feature works from the President of the college, the Director of Galleries, Graphic Design faculty, Interiors alumni and more.

Fine art students in Williamson County Schools will arrive on campus early in the day for an art competition called Art Throw Down. Students will go head-to-head working in groups or individually to draw and paint from live models, design apparel and sculpt fantastic creatures and machines. Judges will evaluate the art, which often includes wild twists tossed at the artists at the last minute.

With Nov. 4th being the Franklin Art Scene celebration, O’More will be hosting several other activities on that day as well. O’More’s new Graphic Design gallery will feature its inaugural exhibit with the design work of CHRISOLUX, Chris Thompson, a world-class graphic designer, artist, speaker and teacher who worked with James Victore in New York, but has recently returned to his native Nashville, while a free ticketed seminar for artists on selling their work will be led by accomplished artist Michael D’Amico at 7 p.m. on the second floor of Abbey Leix Mansion.

November 4th Day of Art schedule:
9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.: Williamson County Schools Art Throw Down
6 p.m.: Opening of Faculty, Staff and Alumni Show
6 p.m.: Opening of Graphic Design gallery with CHRISOLUX exhibit
