Bishop Eddie Long accused of Sexual Coercion with Gay Males!

Respected christian leader, Bishop Eddie Long, has just been slapped with a lawsuit by some young men in his church who claim that Eddie Long has coerced them into sexual acts. According to CNN:

The suits, filed Tuesday in DeKalb County, Georgia, allege that Long used his position as a spiritual authority and bishop to coerce young male members and employees of his New Birth Missionary Baptist Church into sex.

Long took one plaintiff, Anthony Flagg, 21, to overnight trips to a half dozen American cities, Flagg's suit alleges.

"Long shared a bedroom and engaged in intimate sexual contact with plaintiff Flagg including kissing, massaging, masturbating of plaintiff Flagg by defendant Long and oral sexual contact," the suit says
They also claim that the church was aware of the sexual acts, but ignored them:

Lawyers for the two men painted a picture of widespread corruption and sexual misconduct. They said Bishop Long had provided the men with free hotel stays in more than a dozen cities around the country (checking them into rooms under the alias “Dick Tracy”) and had given them gifts, including a Mustang. They said he had introduced them to celebrities like the producer Tyler Perry and the actor Chris Tucker.

A lawyer for the men, Brenda Joy Bernstein, said officials at the church had known that the sexual acts were occurring but covered up for Bishop Long. “They would do everything to protect the most powerful church in the Southeast,” she said.

Unfortunately, being prosecuted in the media is far worst than allowing this lawsuit to take place in the courtroom, which is probably going to be extremely difficult due to the "somewhat celebrity status" of Bishop. I know it may be hard to imagine that someone of this magnitude (God-fearing & Biblical scholar, husband, father, mentor, educated, successful & Black businessman, etc.) could allow himself to come remotely close to being "accused" of such actions, but since none of us are walking beside any of the individuals in this lawsuit; therefore, we are just outsiders allowing the media to paint a cloudy picture of circumstances for us at this time. The picture isn't pristine for Bishop Long at this time - because text messages caused another great person to fall from grace (remember the young mayor in Detroit), but I am in agreement with the fact that this doesn't look God for the church. My prayer is that "we pray" for all individuals that this story will effect (the plaintiffs, defendants, families of all parties, the lawyers for all parties, the church members& the church at large). The ramifications of this lawsuit will forever change the lives of so many people and I pray that all parties will be able to move forward once all the facts have been presented.

On the flip side, have you ever called the radio station & Kenny hung up on you without even identifying what caller you were for a contest? Give me some feedback on that topic.

You can wait to form your opinion but here is mine. Another reason so many are turning away from the church. We are become like the 'world'. Let's stop making excuses and speak out against activities and behaviors that are morally wrong. I know, nobody is perfect and he is human, but you can not be a leader of the 'flock' and live in that manner. He is the spritual leader and head of the church and should hold himself to a higher moral standard.

Whatever happened to presumed innocent until proven guilty? I will form no opinion until all the facts are out in the open.
