Tyler Perry is bringing his Madea character back to town for his latest stage presentation, "Madea’s Big Happy Family,” taking place February 24, 2010, at The Municipal Auditorium for a live performance.

The shows is at 8 p.m. February 24, 2010.

Tickets are $57-$67, on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at the NMA box office outlets, www.ticketmaster.com, 800-745-3000.

Of the show, Perry says "There is nothing like a live performance and if you’ve never seen a Madea play, then you haven’t seen Madea at all. It’s been five years sicne I’ve been on the road and the timing just happened to fall right into place. I needed to get away from Hollywood for a second…clear my head. There is no better way to do that than to come out and see your faces and be reminded of where this all started.”

Perry based his popular Madea character on his mother, who died at the age of 64.

Comment by Vicki Lynn Spurlock on February 22, 2010 at 10:09pm: i want to bless my daughter who lived with my mom the last year and a half of cancer, was her power of atty, raising a 4yr old single, having to drop out of college to help my mom, working full time,etc. My mom passed away on my granddaughters 4th birthday party and my daughter was amazing brave and strong. She is ALWAYS there for everyone. I lost over 3000.00 in FMLA helping my mom and cannot afford the tickets for her. Moms pension was going to her and my other two children. We have to fight to get a dime. There is NO money until a lawsuit...PLEASE HELP ME BLESS HER...That is her in the pic with me!!!!..i KNOW...AMAZING...
