I'm not saying Bishop Eddie Long is guilty of innocent because as many like Michael Baisden has said, we can't be quite stop jumping the conclusions of guilt because all the facts have to come out yet. I remember being in tears after Michael Jackson died when the boy who accused him and won a settlement admitted his father coerced him to lie to extort money for Michael. This same media witch hunt took place and turns out what destroyed a mans reputation and life in many ways was false, and it was only in death that he received redemption from many how judged him by media accounts above all else. This is another reason when organizations the mentor young people have to go above and beyond to protect their kids, and the staff too.

I don't agree with fighting battles like this in the media--like YouTube??? This is the very reason why many people accused of crimes say they getting a fair trial is increasingly becoming difficult. I'm not hear to judge either party involved. I will say that many victims of crimes like this typically don't use platforms like this to exploit themselves--even before they are typically exploited during the trial by the defendents lawyers. This young man should have saved these words to say to him when facing him in the appropriate place in the trial. At this same time he is addressing Bishop Eddie Long in this manner to deal with him face-to-face, the same could be said to him. I also blame his attorney for not advising against this type of judge/jury format.

Wow, it is so good to hear intelligent people speak with an open mind without being accusatory.
Now don't forget that in the lawsuits the young men state that once they tried to start a relationship with a female, then the Bishop (defendant) would "go off on a deep end" and cut them off...and how about the altar boys from the Catholic church who don't tell on the priest until they become adults? Those priests serve time for sexual crimes commited sometimes 10-15 years beforehand. So what do the altar boys have to gain? Is it because the priests are not rich and the violations are not an issue of money? First, those altar boys in the Catholic Church probably thought that no one would believe them and that in sone way, that they probably contributed to the incident; secondly, they respected the priest, and last but not least, they valued their position as altar boy. Now why could this not simply be the case for these four young men and any others who may not have come forth?

I'm crushed, about the whole thing. The young men, the wife, children, and the faithful tithe paying members. The members who put their trust in Long and followed his leadership. This could ruin a lot of people walk with the Lord, he has 25,000 members. The whole situation is awful!!!

i agee with you AFRAME but when people are hurt and let down(regardless of the reason) the launch out and want the person doing the hurt to suffer to, that does'nt make it right but thats the way it is. but the pastor is totally wrong in this but the pride of life is keeping him from coming clean and the thought of losing that easy life which to me he sold out for long time ago, but he aint the only one.

Danielle, I have to agree with everything you said as well! And I was thinking the same thing..Jesus was humble. And you're right, only Jehovah deserves this glory!

WOW..there's always two sides to every story. There's truth somewhere in this story.

I agree with you Aframe. After these men got to a certain age and Long had no more use for them then they want to tell their stories. I've always considered him suspect myself as far as all the flashiness he displays. Jesus was not in the least bit flashy, but a humble, endearing, and enthralling man because of His humility! Jesus displayed all of the characteristics of His Father Jehovah! Please people let this be a lesson to you on putting fallible human beings, money, cars, clothes, social status, on a pedestal! Only Jehovah God deserves awe and glory!

I am sure that these young men are really hurt. And I in no way, form, or fashion, support Long because he has always seemed suspect to me long before these accusations. Not gay suspect, but if you knew how his church was ran prior to this (special driving lanes for "VIP" church members?? What are those?) he has always struck me as someone who abuses their man-given power. The only suspicion I have towards the young men now is, if you listen to Jamal, he says that they feared losing his support for themselves and their families if they stopped. Then he said that Long turned his back on them when he didn't have a need for them anymore. The accusers enjoyed all the perks..allowing themselves to be used, but then when Long left them, then the accusations fly. Somewhat coincedental to me. I KNOW and understand that children are easily manipulated, but at 17, 18, and 19 years of age we ALLOW ourselves to be used and bought. Its not like we don't know any better. Well, I know I did anyway. I knew that sexual relations with somebody under these circumstances would have been wrong long before I reached the "age of consent" as they were. I also believe that Long did participate in the majority of these acts because he still hasn't flat out denied them like a person would who is being lied on.

no doubt this is true, but he's not the only preacher doing it, he's just the one who got caught. hebrews 5 vs 1,2 says the priest has infirmities to. people build them up too high and they allow it for the money and the favor that comes from THIS life not the life after.
