FGrand Re-Opening Celebration at the Market House

am - 1 pm. Free. Ride the Music City Circuit to the Farmers' Market and enjoy
the recently re-opened Market House (temporarily closed after the May flood).
The celebration will feature a rededication ceremony with Mayor Karl Dean at

Films at the Frist: Sabrina

Free. Sabrina, a rags-to-riches Cinderella story, is the film that began a
lifelong association between French designer Hubert de Givenchy and actress
Audrey Hepburn. Sabrina will be shown in the auditorium.

4th Annual Dragon Boat Races and Festival
Sat, Aug 14. Riverfront Park. 837-1151. 8 am - 5 pm. Free. Bring your friends
and family down for a fun day celebrating our wonderful Cumberland River.
Sponsored by the Cumberland River Compact and the Tennessee Scenic Rivers
Association. Opening "dotting of the eye" dragon ceremony at 8 am
with the Chinese Arts Alliance. Races begin at 9 am. Four teams will race
approximately every 20 minutes. The closing awards ceremony will be held at 5
pm in the main festival tent. The after party at the Wildhorse Saloon will
begin immediately following the festival. Food, music and art also available
during the festival.

7th Annual Tomato Art Fest
August 14, 2010
Voted “Best Festival” in the 2007, 2008, and 2009 Nashville Scene Reader’s
Polls, the Tomato Art Fest will return this year on Saturday, August 14.
Located in Historic East Nashville’s Five Points area, which has been coined by
Budget Travel Magazine as “Nashville’s version of New York’s East Village,”
this FREE, costume-friendly event provides a fun-filled day. A community
builder, the Tomato Art Fest has steadily drawn larger crowds with each year
that passes. Last year, an estimated 20,000 came to celebrate this beloved
fruit/vegetable and enjoy the day’s festivities.
The Tomato Fest is literally chock-full of amazing music of all varieties and
fun things to do – for all ages! Kids look forward to activities like a
Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest and the Giant Ice Cream Sundae Extravaganza, while
the grown-ups can’t wait for the Salsa Dancing and Bloody Mary Contest.

Jack Daniel's Invitational: PBR - Built Ford Tough Series

The Professional Bull Riders, Inc. (PBR) heads back to Tennessee for the Jack
Daniels Invitational in Nashville. Don’t miss the action as the top 40 bull
riders in the world take over the Bridgestone Arena for two nights only.
Tickets are on sale now! Fans will get to witness firsthand the bone-crushing
action of The Toughest Sport on Earth, with over two hours packed full of
thrills and spills, pyrotechnics and rock & roll music. The invitational
will consist of three rounds of competition, with the first two rounds
featuring the Top 40 bull riders matched against the PBR’s rankest bulls. The
scores from the two rides will be combined and the riders with the Top 15
scores will advance to the Built Ford Tough Championship Round after
intermission on Sunday. In the end, the cowboy with the highest total score on
three bulls will be declared the winner!

Wine Tasting with the Ques will be held on Saturday 8/14/10 from 7pm-10pm at
the Wingate Inn by the Airport in Nashville. Tickets are $15 in advance/$20 at
the door. Proceeds will go to scholarship funds. There will be wine,
h'orderves, and live jazz all night. Come out and support Omega Psi Phi
Fraternity, Inc. and the Pi Gamma Gamma Foundation.
