DONALD TRUMP: Approval Rating Drops to 36%

After his failure to get his new health care bill passed, President Donald Trump's job approval rating has hit a new low, according to new polling results released by Gallup on Monday.

According to the survey, only 36% of Americans surveyed between Friday and Sunday approved of the president's job performance. Prior to the health care bill's collapse, Trump's rating was 41%.

Prior to this, Trump's previous low had been 37%, which he hit during a three-day run that ended on March 18th. (Boston Globe)

DEVIN NUNES: Dems Ask Him to Recuse Himself From Russia Probe

Republican chairman of the House Intelligence Committee Devin Nunes [pr: noo-nez] is part of the team investigating Russian interference into the presidential election, but now he's being called into question with claims that he's too close to President Trump. On Monday, top House Democrats said he should recuse himself from the investigation.

This follows the news that Nunes met a source on the grounds of the White House to view secret intelligence reports that revealed that Trump and his associates may have been "incidentally" caught up in surveillance by American intelligence agencies.

Representative Adam Schiff of California said that Nunes, who was part of Trump's transition team, is too close to the president to be part of the investigation. (The New York Times)

JEFF SESSIONS: Nearly Two Dozen Ask DOJ to Launch Inquiry

Twenty-three people from five different states have filed a complaint with the Department of Justice accusing Attorney General Jeff Sessions of lying to the Senate Judiciary Committee about his relations with the Russian government and then trying to cover it up.

The complaint says that Sessions gave misleading and false testimony in January during his confirmation hearing when he said he did not have communications with the Russians.

J. Whitfield Larrabee, a Massachusetts attorney who represents 23 of the complainants, told The Washington Post, "We feel there is probably cause to charge him with a crime. We want indictments in the case. We want Attorney General Sessions to be treated just the same as anyone else. We don't think that just because he's attorney general, that there should be a higher standard to bring charges against him. (The Washington Post)
