LeBron James is not expected to exercise his $21.6 million option on his contract for next season and will become a free agent on Wednesday. But before Cleveland Cavaliers fans start burning his jersey again and cursing his name, they need to know that this time is different. He's not going anywhere.

This move has been expected for months. Doing this gives King James an opportunity to sign a new maximum contract which will be negotiated after other free agents are signed. Sources say his salary for next year will likely rise to more than $22 million. But you can't blame Cavs fans for feeling just a little uneasy after he crushed the entire city in 2010 when he announced that he's leaving for Miami, where he went on to win two championships.

LeBron says though he'll be a free agent, he has no plans to meet with any other teams and will just sit back and let the powers that be work it all out. (ESPN)

Say What:

He says he's not interested in leaving, but you have to think he's probably a tad bit curious to see what other opportunities are out there.

If he left the Cavs a second time, that would probably be the worst thing to ever happen to the city of Cleveland, and that's saying a lot.
