Nicki Minaj released her third studio album on Monday and opening week sales aren't predicted to be that stellar.

According to HitsDailyDouble, The Pinkprint is predicted to move between 170,000 and 180,000 copies in its first week. Those numbers represent a significant drop for Nicki. Her 2010 LP Pink Friday opened with 375,000 units sold and 2012’s Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded sold 253,000 copies.

Yet, with the current state of the music industry, a 170,000-to-180,000 range is a decent debut for a major hip-hp artist on the Billboard charts. Rick Ross’ Mastermind, Schoolboy Q’s Oxymoron, Eminem’s Shady XV and Jeezy’s Seen It All all came in under the 200,000 mark their first week. The one exception is J. Cole, whose 2014 Forrest Hills Drive opened with 375,000 equivalent units, the best sales numbers hip-hop has seen all year.

The official sales numbers for Nicki Minaj’s The Pinkprint will be announced next week.

The Quickies:

Has the shock value worn off? Is Nicki is boring now?

Will Nicki go down in history as a Lil Kim clone who used sex to get album sells?

Did Iggy Azalea replace Nicki. Is it over?
