Beyonce gave birth to a baby girl named Blue Ivy Carter in New York City Saturday. Blue's father Jay-Z was there as Bey delivered the newborn via C-section.

Rihanna confirmed the news via Twitter, writing, "Welcome to the world, Princess Carter! Love, Aunty Rih."

Many are speculating on the meaning of the baby's name. Here's one theory -- the first two letters of "Ivy" are the Roman numerals for four, which is Beyonce's favorite number and the name of her last album. Also both Bey and Jay's birthdays are on the fourth. "Blue" could be related to Jay-Z'sBlueprint series.
