Is this "In-Bounds" for getting into a Frat or Band at a University?

I was asked in college if I would like to join the Alpha's. After seeing the way these pledges were treated I decided no group was worth the humiliation  the guys had to endure. if this if your thing, more power to you. I just don't get it.

Dumb pranks. I had to do something similar. I was the tail (last one in line) so I always got the worst of everything. Lots of people have experienced way worse, some have lost their lives. I think in any situation you should use good judgement if the activity will jeopardize your health and safety you should NOT do it. Hazing was originally a way of formulating a bond between those on that particular line, but somewhere along the way people got real crazy with things. The evidence of a "true bond" would be if everyone on that line refused to do the tom foolery! There are laws both within each fraternal organization and State /Federal laws against hazing now so people really should watch it.
