YOUNG THUG: Future's Michael Jackson to My Tito

Two of Atlanta's hottest artists could be headed down the warpath, and it all started when producer Metro Boomin' fired off shots on Twitter.

Young Thug caught feelings when he saw Future's longtime collaborator, Metro, post a string of tweets that he felt were being directed at him. Metro wrote, “Every day I wake up, new mixtapes are falling out of the sky. I think we all know where the trend came from, lol. I Just Call It How I See It.” He says that because of Thugger, artists are “dropping tapes every month” whereas “everyone was holding their music before.” Boomin’ summed it up by writing, “Moral of the story is putting out five tapes in a year won’t make you heat up like Future… It’s a marathon, not a sprint.”

Thug took offense to the tweeting spree, asking the guy he was planning to work with on Metro Thuggin to “put some names on [it], lil boy.” Thug says Future’s music couldn’t even approach the greatness of his catalog, saying he’s Michael and Future is Tito.

Thug continued the shade this afternoon (Tuesday), when he wrote, “I think if you guys were to stop drinking so much cheap liquor and high-tech syrup you would be able to think before speaking and typing.” He says he has nothing against Future and that he enjoys his music, and that he hopes Future continues to bless the world with it.

Say Whaaat:

Let’s give credit where it’s due. Gucci Mane a.k.a. Guwop a.k.a. THE MACHINE really started this mixtape craze.

How frequently do you think artists should put out new music?

So much for that Metro Thuggin project, I guess. It’s a shame, a lot of people were looking forward to it, too.

Has Young Thug looked in a mirror lately?

A lot of these artists do need to take it easy on the lean.

You know you've got a problem when Young Thug is calling you out.

We’re not advocating violence, but can’t these guys just shoot the fair one and be done with it instead of trading shots on Twitter for days on end?

It's one thing to brag. It's another to compare yourself to the King of Pop.
