Jesse Jackson recently released a statement that addressed the rumors of him having an affair with another woman. The same businessman who has accused him of being part of plan to donate money to Rod Blagojevich has said that he also paid for a female social acquaintance, Giovana Huidobro, to fly to Chicago. Of the incident, Jackson said:

The reference to a social acquaintance is a private and personal matter between me and my wife that was handled some time ago. I ask that you respect our privacy, know I have disappointed some supporters, and for that I am deeply sorry. But I remain committed to serving my constituents and fighting on their behalf.
