SNOOP DOGG: On the Stand(Posted 3:00 AM, 4/28/2009)

Snoop Dogg took the stand in his own defense yesterday in Seattle, where he's accused of beating up a man during a 2005 performance. During two hours of testimony, Snoop explained that he wasn't involved in the beating of Richard Monroe Junior. Snoop said then when Monroe jumped onstage during a performance of "Gin and Juice," he left the stage and went directly to his tour bus. Snoop identified many of the people on a video who were involved in the onstage fight -- many of them being part of the entourage of The Game. Snoop said the beating happened when security reacted to what they believed was Snoop being attacked. Monroe has maintained that he jumped onstage at the urging of the rapper.
Monroe is suing for 22-million dollars after he alleges Snoop beat him with a microphone shaped like brass knuckles. He awoke backstage and naked, in a pool of his own blood the following day.

CHARLIE WILSON: Follows Up Successful Single(Posted 3:00 AM, 4/28/2009)

Charlie Wilson has reached a career milestone -- his "There Goes My Baby," off the C-D Uncle Charlie, tops the Urban Adult Contemporary singles chart for the seventh week in a row. Wilson says of the song, penned by Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds and Calvin Richardson, "When they presented me with this song, I knew it was a winner." The video is in rotation on B-E-T J and V-H-1 Soul, and was recently added to Music Choice.
Wilson has selected "Can't Live Without You" as the second single from Uncle Charlie. That track was produced by The Underdogs. -- Jamila Daniel

Solange Open's For Michael Jackson

Bossip just caught wind from a highly placed source that Solange may be one of the opening acts for Michael Jackson’s upcoming European tour: Solange recently renewed a passport and is said to be in the last of negotiations to be the opening act for the European leg of Michael Jackson’s summer tour. The tour is set to start in London. Wow, baby sis, that’s one helluva come up. We would hate, but what are we gonna say?
