A former intern on The Wendy Williams Show is suing, claiming he and other interns should have been paid for the work they did on the program.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, former intern Anthony Tart has filed a class action suit against the show's distributor, Lionsgate, and its production company, Debmar-Mercury. He says that under New York State labor laws, they should have been paid for doing things like washing dishes, getting coffee, picking up art supplies and throwing out garbage.

Tart also argues that not only did the program have him working jobs he should have been paid for, it also failed to give him any assignments that taught him about television production.

It's unclear what the suit, which would cover roughly 100 former interns on the show if certified, is looking for in terms of damages.

The Quickies:

Are young people more entitled today than they were 20 years ago?

Have young people lost sight of what an internship is all about?

The government has gotten a lot stricter on this kind of stuff these days. Interns are not just free labor anymore.

When you get an internship, should you expect to be given interesting jobs? Or is it up to you to hustle your way into those jobs?
