APPEARANCE AND WEIGHT AFFECT HAPPINESS

This should shock no one, but according to a new study from Chapman University, your appearance and how much you weigh play a major role in your overall life satisfaction.

For women, researchers found that satisfaction with the way they looked was the third strongest predictor of overall life satisfaction – behind only their financial situation and their romantic partner.

For men, appearance was the second strongest predictor of life satisfaction, behind only money.

Not surprisingly, few people – 24% of men and 20% of women – felt very or extremely satisfied with their weight

Basically, most of us have a long way to go before we achieve the goal of being truly happy with our bodies – and maybe being happy overall. (News Medical)

Speaking of body image ...

SOCIAL MEDIA AND BODY IMAGE

A new study has found that the more time you spend on social media, the less positive you feel about your body.

A University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine survey of 18- to 32-year-olds found that those who spent the most time on social were more than twice as likely to have eating and body image issues.

Guess all those “perfect” pictures people post are making people feel bad about their own bodies. (Women’s Health)
