Too Short’s wish was granted after he told a judge today (Wednesday) that he’d rather be in jail than spend another three years on probation for violating his DUI plea bargain.

The Bay Area legend had struck a pretty sweet deal initially, avoiding jail time by agreeing to complete community service and spend three years on probation. But Short showed up to court today without having fulfilled his community service requirements, and though the judge was willing to offer him more time, he would also have to spend the next three years on probation. In the end, the Oakland rapper decided he’d rather sit behind bars for three months than be monitored for another three years.

It might be a smart move -- Short Dawg is expected to be released before the end of his 90-day sentence due to overcrowding.

Say What:

He didn’t feel like he could enjoy his freedom while being under probation, he’d rather just serve his time and be done with it.

A lot of times non-violent offenders get out after just a few days because of overcrowding.
