Toni Braxton & Birdman Plan ‘Great Gatsby’-Themed Wedding

 Toni Braxton and Birdman are planning an extravagant wedding, inspired by everything from Sex and the City to The Great Gatsby.  

Speaking with PEOPLE, the 50-year-old icon gushed about her fairytale wedding. “This is my second wedding, and I’m over 40,” she said (via Page Six). “It’s like [Sex and the City’s] Carrie Bradshaw, the last bride. It’ll be elegant and a little sexy.”  

Braxton and Baby were coy about their relationship for years. However, she says that they began dating in 2016 following years of friendship. “He’s been my bestie for like 15 or 16 years,” she explained. Birdman also reportedly supported her while she was fighting lupus complications. “Every day I had a show, he came.” 

Toni, who recently released Sex & Cigarettes, finally confirmed engagement rumors in the trailer for this season’s “Braxton Family Values.” “I have an announcement to make,” she said. “I’m engaged!” 

During an interview with Rap-Up, Birdman, 49, spoke about his bride-to-be. “She’s a legend,” he said. “She do her thing. She’s just prolific with that shit. I think she’s a one-of-one and a very special talent in the music business.”
