The Tennessee Titans have claimed former Minnesota Vikings receiver Randy Moss, sources told our Adam Schefter. Moss plans to report to the Titans, league sources told Schefter. If Moss does not report to the Titans, Tennessee will send him a "5-day" letter and at the end of that five days, they have the right to put him on the Reserve/Left Squad list. He would be out for the remainder of the season once the club takes that action. Moss' status for next year would be determined by terms of the new collective bargaining agreement.

The Titans were faced with the absence of receiver Kenny Britt, who hurt his right hamstring on the Titans' second drive in a 33-25 loss at San Diego in Week 8. The Titans don't know how much time he'll miss yet because Britt is still having tests on his leg, though coach Jeff Fisher said he would tell reporters if the injury was bad enough to end Britt's season.

I am glad Randy Moss has provided young receivers like Kenny Britt his advice and knowledge regarding the NFL. He's without question a future Hall of Famer and from an athletic standpoint arguably the finest pure talent at his position in NFL history. But you still wonder why the Titans haven't thrown more passes his way since he joined them.

This is a win win situation for the Titans. If Moss really puts it in gear and plays the way he can, the Titans can sign him to a longer term deal once the lockout ends. If he doesn't apply himself, all they did was claim him off waivers. No big loss. While I would refrain from putting the Titans in the Super Bowl just yet, once Britt comes back and if Gage gets healthy, they could have four prime receiving threats with Moss and Washington, Britt and Gage.
