- Though generally associated with Atlanta, Watkins was born in Des Moines, Iowa.
- She worked as a hairstylist before joining TLC.
- Her boutique Chase's Closet -- named for her daughter -- has won awards for best kids store four years in a row.
- She was named one of People magazine's 50 Most Beautiful People in 2000.
