BabyCenter.com just released its lists of the most popular baby names for
2016. So . . . um . . . if you have a kid this month, apparently they DON'T COUNT.
The top 10 girls' names for the year are: Sophia . . . Emma . . . Olivia . . . Ava . . . Mia . . .
Isabella . . . Riley . . . Arya . . . Zoe . . . and Charlotte. Yep, "Game of Thrones" managed to
land a name in eighth place.
The top 10 boys' names are: Jackson . . . Aiden . . . Lucas . . . Liam . . . Noah . . . Ethan . . .
Mason . . . Caden . . . Oliver . . . and Elijah.
The boys' name that had the biggest jump this year was Mateo . . . it went from 85th last year to
55th this year. The girls' name with the biggest jump was Peyton . . . it went from 84th last year
to 41st this year.
And finally, they also found the election influenced some baby names. Hillary was 64% more
popular . . . Donald was only 5% more popular . . . but Ivanka jumped up 39%.
