Local News:
"Nashville judge Gloria Dumas denies misconduct charges"

Davidson County General Sessions Judge Gloria Dumas is fighting charges that she has been perpetually late and abused the use of special judges, saying she's been singled out for punishment for things many judges do.
In court filings Tuesday, Dumas asked that the misconduct charges brought against her by the Tennessee Court of the Judiciary be dismissed.
She also asked that she be excused from providing documentation of where she parks her car for work and what times she has opened court each day since January 2007, saying the request from the disciplinary counsel for the judicial oversight board is "unduly burdensome."
The rare public misconduct charges were leveled against Dumas in September. According to the charges, she overused a statute that allows judges to occasionally appoint a replacement by getting someone else to handle her docket 33 times in 2008 and 12 times between January and March of this year. Many appointments went to one attorney.

"Miley Cryus Back In Town For Concert"

*NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Thousands of fans will pack the Sommet Center Wednesday tonight to see one of Tennessee's hometown sweethearts. Disney's "Hannah Montana" star Miley Cyrus is expected to pack out the Sommet Center.
Doors for the show open at 5 p.m. and the concert starts at 7 p.m., but before the concert begins, fans can express their inner creativity at an interactive studio set up outside the Sommet Center.
Fans can superimpose the teenage star with a picture of themselves in front of a green screen and then upload them directly to the Internet to share instantly.

"Former Titan Arrested For DUI, Gets Lesser Charge"

*NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A former Titan arrested earlier in 2009 on DUI charges received a lesser charge.
Former receiver Chris Davis was sentenced Tuesday to six months of supervised probation for reckless driving after he was originally arrested for a DUI in August.
An officer stopped Davis for speeding in the early morning hours, and the former Titan registered .11 on the blood alcohol test.
Shortly after the incident, Davis was released from the Titans due to a hamstring injury. He was re-signed in early November and then released again just days later.

"Two Teens Killed In Crash"

*CHARLOTTE, Tenn. – Two Dickson County teens are dead after a car crash Tuesday evening. The Tennessee Highway Patrol has not yet released the names of the victims, but local residents said both of the victims were students at Creekwood High School in Charlotte.
The crash happened along Steel Road, outside of the Charlotte city limits. It appears the driver lost control of the car. The car veered off the road and into a ditch where the car burst into flames.
Those who know the victims said the Creekwood high community is in a state of shock.
"I love both of them. I hope they're up there looking down on us right now smiling, just thinking how stupid we are for crying over them. I know it isn't stupid because we love them," said fellow student Clint Gibson.
THP is still investigating; no word yet on what caused the incident.
Tuesday was the last day of school before the Thanksgiving break. Counselors will be available for students next week.

Headlines:
"VERDICT? FUHGEDDABOUT IT!"

*It's beginning to look like the fourth time won't be the charm for prosecutors trying to put John Gotti Junior behind bars once and for all. The son of convicted godfather John Gotti blew a kiss to his family when jurors in his trial on murder and racketeering charges said -- for the second time -- that they were hopelessly deadlocked. Gotti grew more serious when judge Kevin Castel ordered them to keep trying. The younger Gotti has had his last three trials end in mistrials.

"AIRLINES HAVE TO PAY FEES"

*Airlines have been squeezing every dollar out of passengers for years -- but now they're going to have to give something back. The Department of Transportation levied a 100-thousand-dollar fine against Continental Airlines and its Continental Express subsidiary yesterday (Tuesday) for an incident in which passengers spent more than six hours stuck on the tarmac in Rochester, Minnesota last August. Four dozen passengers were forced to stay in the plane overnight even though they were less than 50 yards away from the airport terminal. In addition to the fine, Continental also provided a full refund to each passenger and "offered each passenger additional compensation to tangibly acknowledge their time and discomfort."

"STORES CUT PRICES, PAPERS RAISE THEIRS"
*Bigwigs in the struggling newspaper industry have come up with a unique idea on how to lure readers back -- by raising the cost of Thanksgiving Day editions. Papers across the country will be charging Sunday prices for the Thursday edition, under the assumption that consumers will pay extra for the massive load of Black Friday advertising supplements. A rep for Media News Group, which publishes newspapers on the West Coast, tells Bloomberg News, "There's real value in that paper because it has advertising inserts for the entire shopping season."

Celebs:
"RIHANNA: R-Rated GMA Performance"

*Rihanna's performance on Good Morning America yesterday (Tuesday) included songs from her new disc, Rated R, as well as fan favorite "Umbrella." Wearing a white-sequined blazer, Rihanna copped to a wardrobe malfunction that occurred just prior to the start of her set, telling G-M-A host Robin Roberts, "My dress... I guess I'm a little too fat right now ... the zip busted. They wanted to stitch it up but I couldn't." She also talked a bit about her new album, revealing, "It came very natural only because it was my place of peace -- being in the studio just venting. It was the one place I didn't feel judged or criticized. Every emotion went into that album." Rated R hit stores yesterday.

"BEYONCE: She's Yours on Thursday"

*Beyonce invites fans to tune in to A-B-C for her I Am Yours television special after their done with the turkey tomorrow night. The program features her summer 2009 concert at the intimate Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas. Also included are a behind-the-scenes look at the singer and videos from her childhood.

"USHER: Album Delayed"

*After announcing that Usher's Raymond Vs. Raymond album would be arriving early, Jive now says the disc is being delayed with no new date in place. A label rep explains to Billboard, "This is a solid album that we believe in. We want to give it a proper launch."
The collection's lead single, "Papers," has sat at number-two on the Billboard R-&-B chart for the last week.

"JEREMIH, MARIO: Set for Thanksgiving Holiday"

*Jeremih -- who's been busy promoting his single "Break Up to Make Up" -- is looking forward to taking a break for Thanksgiving. He tells us, "This is the best time of the year for me. I love this season. I'm from Chicago and it gets kinda cold, so Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, I always like to bring it in the right way."
*Mario has off for the holiday as well and tells us, "I usually fly back home to Baltimore and kick it with the [family]." But when he can't get home, he can always find a meal somewhere. "I have enough friends in certain cities where I can go. My manager, his family lives near the South. I got family on the West Coast where I can get home-cooked meals here and there. So it's all good."

"JON GOSSELIN CAUGHT ON TAPE"

*Jon Gosselin again put his foot in his mouth...and this time Michael Lohan caught it on tape.
In a phone conversation obtained by Radar Online, Jon accuses T-L-C of making side deals and not giving him a share of the profits. At one point, Jon says, "I put my kids out there to every pedophile on the planet and they never got paid for it." In his conversation with Lohan, Jon says the network made deals with two magazines, but never gave him any of the cash. But Radar Online says they have confirmed that "T-L-C was not paid for either magazine interview, both of which were done for publicity." The recorded phone call occurred several months ago. T-L-C is suing Jon for breach of contract.

"ANGELINA HATES OBAMA"

*Angelina Jolie has no goodwill toward Barack Obama. In fact, a source tells Us magazine the U-N Goodwill Ambassador "hates him."
The insider says, "She's into education and rehabilitation and thinks Obama is all about welfare and handouts. She thinks Obama is really a socialist in disguise." And those political views are causing problems with Brad Pitt -- a big supporter of the president. The source says, "They get in nasty arguments all the time about it. She doesn't respect Brad when it comes to politics, but, in the end, this won't tear them apart."

Today in Black history:
"Amistad Survivors Return to Africa"
*On November 25th, 1841, the surviving kidnapped slaves aboard the European ship La Amistad returned to Africa after a lengthy trial in which a Supreme Court justice ruled they'd been illegally transported and held as slaves, and ordered them freed.

Healthy choices:
"HOLIDAY HEALTH: Keeping Extra Pounds Off the Thanksgiving Menu"

*Another year, another attempt to not let the food of the holiday season overwhelm us and fatten us up.
Here are some tips to consider as the food starts rolling in:
-Breakfast -- It sounds crazy, but be sure to have a good breakfast and a healthy lunch on Thanksgiving Day. You don't want to be starving when Thanksgiving dinner rolls around.
-Slow Down on Seconds -- Try to wait 20 to 30 minutes before taking seconds. Even just this short amount of time will give your body a chance to recognize if it is really still hungry.
-Water -- Drink water with lemon instead of wine or soda. Water helps your body digest the carbs you take in. It also helps if you are planning to drink alcohol, as it will help reduce hangovers the next day.
-Low-Cal -- Choose lower-calorie ingredients in Thanksgiving recipes, but only in those recipes where you really won't notice the change.
Fruits, Veggies and Lean Meat -- Go for fruits, vegetables and lean proteins as much as possible. Steer clear of white bread and other "empty" appetizers.
-Walk -- Go for a 30-minute walk immediately after dinner, and over the next few days, to burn off the extra carbs you pick up.

There are 3 basic challenges of life. There are challenges of the BODY. There are challenges of the MIND. And there are challenges of the SOUL.
