NASHVILLE SCHOOL REZONING PLAN GOES TO COURT

A judge will hear arguments over the controversial Metro School rezoning plan Wednesday. Only two weeks ago, a judge ruled that a middle school student must be allowed to attend Bellevue Middle School after the NAACP filed a lawsuit on behalf of her family. Shortly after the first lawsuit, attorneys filed a federal lawsuit against the school system on behalf of several families. The attorneys argue the new rezoning plan, which took effect this year, segregates schools and puts some students at an educational disadvantage. District leaders said the plan was intended to allow students to attend schools in their neighborhood. A list of potential witnesses filed by the families in the lawsuit includes former schools director Pedro Garcia, who resigned last year.

CARTER: RACISM IN OBAMA OPPOSITION

Former president Jimmy Carter said in an interview with N-B-C News yesterday that he believes that the intensity of the demonstrations against President Obama are a result of racism. Carter, who served as president from 1977 to 1981, said, "I think an overwhelming portion of the intensely demonstrated animosity toward President Barack Obama is based on the fact that he is a black man, that he's African American. I live in the South, and I've seen the South come a long way, and I've seen the rest of the country that shared the South's attitude toward minority groups at that time, particularly African Americans." I've been saying this for weeks. However, I am glad that somebody else finally got the balls to say it! Especially the gentlement from Georgia!

The Breakdown of Civility, Manners, and the Obama Effect

Joe Wilson, Kanye, Serena, The Republican Party, Michael Jordan, and just everyday citizens are losing their minds. There is a total breakdown in civility in our country and it has to stop immediately! When people can't be decent human beings towards one another, critical social conversations stop, manners are lost, and the violence ensues. The Grand Ole Party is supposed to be about protecting and preserving American Values not breaking them down. The way the conservatives have behaved over the past 8 months is deplorable. You have been more active in the last 8 months than you ever have in the past 8 YEARS! Where were you when BUSH was tearing down this country. If there had been Tea Baggers then, I would have marched with you!

This behavior comes from what I call the Obama Effect. It is clandestine, secret, and unspoken racism veiled as politics. It is led by people like Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh. The Obama Effect makes ordinary citizens turn into venom spewing, Socialist Yelling, divisive citizens, not willing to listen to reason or compromise. There is a hate of Obama, an unwillingness to accept losing the election, and a goal to undermine and destroy this Administration at all cost. It is so sick that school children aren't allowed to hear their President welcome them to school and tell them to work hard. The Obama Effect is a cancer, one that without dialogue and decency will not correct itself!

Be critical of our President. Be vigiliant. But be decent, be respectful of the office of the President, and most importantly show some MANNERS! I can guarantee you that there will be violence in the coming months if civility, manners, and decency is lost in the pursuit of our political goals on BOTH sides of CHANGE!

RESERVIST BEATEN IN FRONT OF HER 7 YR OLD DAUGHTER

This story backs up my claim about the breakdown of civility and manners in our country. It will lead to even MORE violence. Our country is headed in the wrong direction. Check out the clip!

CHRIS BROWN TURNING INTO A STALKER

Chris Brown is trying to get back with Rihanna -- and he's doing it the only way that he can legally -- on Twitter. As you know, Chris was convicted of assaulting Rihanna - and as part of his punishment he's not allowed to have any contact with her. So instead of calling her up directly and begging for forgiveness, he's leaving her messages via Twitter. Yesterday, Chris put up a tweet clearly aimed at Rihanna -- he said, "My heart is incomplete... I'm missing someone or something." But Rihanna's not falling for it. According to one of our snitches, Rihanna's hard at work on a brand new album. And one of her new songs will be about breaking up with an abusive boyfriend. Sorry Chris... but it doesn't look like you're gonna be able to tweet your way back into Rihanna's heart.

NAS AND KELIS MAKING UP???

Word on the street is that rapper Nas and his estranged wife Kelis are trying to work things out. According to one of our snitches, the couple attended a New York City party together -- and they looked very much like a happily married couple. Awww, how sweet. But really, who didn't see this one coming though? I mean, given the amount of child support he's required to pay, Nas has 55,000 reasons a month to take her back.

JAY Z SHOWING LOVE TO THE SOLDIERS

Jay-Z showed love for the U-S military when he arrived at the ASICS Video Music Awards after-party at his 40/40 Club in New York by a pulling a few members of the Armed Forces from the line outside to walk the red carpet with him. Hov brought them inside the club and hooked them up with full V-I-P treatment.

Racism is still alive in this country. Pure evil and disrespect. I hope this guy gets what he disserves;

Civility is merely an afterthought. We as a society can not engage in shows like "Flavor of Love" or "Real Housewives of ...." and not expect society to be effected. Honestly if you watch reality shows,or listen to music, watch movies, or read offensive material (most urban books) and find it entertaining or funny, then you have to expect some type of influence on society. You can not smoke cigarrettes everyday and expect to be completely healthy. Equally you can not expect people to have images and examples of uncivil acts day in and day out, then expect them to be civil. The question then becomes is art imitating life or is life imitating art?

I hate that Nas and Kelis had to officially divorce before attempting to reconcile. I really hope they can work it out and stick together for the long run. There are more than enough single parent homes in the world and if one less can be avoided, it would be a blessing.

Lastly, I admire that President Carter had the courage to express his opinion, but I think that it will be limited as far as its impact due to his age. People will say he's crazy, old, and out of touch. I think if President Clinton or Senator McCain (despite his age, he still has a great amount of influence) made the same statements they would have a far greater impact and couldn't be as easily dismissed.
