"No WIC Clinic For Hickory Hollow Mall"
*ANTIOCH, Tenn. - The Metro Health department will have to find a new place for a planned WIC clinic.
Tuesday night, the Metro Council indefinitely deferred a proposal to put the clinic in the Hickory Hollow mall.
The health department wanted the clinic there because a large portion of the families the clinic would serve live in Antioch, and some city officials thought it would be a boost to the struggling mall.
Earlier this week, a large crowd met to voice opposition to having the clinic in the mall. Protestors came together at a town hall meeting Monday night.
The WIC clinic is part of the Woman, Infants and Children program. WIC provides federal grants to states to care for low-income pregnant women, young mothers, infants and children up to age of five who are found to be at nutritional risk.
Some members of the Antioch community did not want the clinic to be located inside Hickory Hollow Mall, because they believed it will not only run off businesses from the mall and affect property values of surrounding homes.
Days after the clinic was supposed to open, homeowners took aim at Council member Sam Coleman. They wanted to know why he was not more up-front about his bill to bring the WIC clinic to the mall.
Coleman's supporters and officials from the health department insisted the meetings and bill readings were advertised. Coleman said he saw development inside a struggling shopping center.

On Sunday family and friends kicked off the first ever Unsolved Murder Week.
More than a dozen families, all part of the group called Partners in the Struggle, spent their Sunday evening reliving their pain and drawing from it motivation to resolve the crime.
Sarah Gill has waited six months for clues in the shooting death of her son Andre'us Taylor. He was shot in broad daylight while leaving a graduation at TSU.
"I know there was over 2,000 people there so somebody saw what happened," Gill said.
"Somebody knows something I have no question about that it's time for us as individuals to step up and say hey we can help and we will help," said Earl Jordan, CEO of Partners in the Struggle and founder of Unsolved Murder Week.
In spite of all their grief, the victims have been holding out hope that little piece of information will soon come to light.
The group hopes to make Unsolved Murder Week a national event.
*MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Rutherford County will be facing more accusations of sexual assault on its school buses.
School officials said a 16-year-old boy was arrested on aggravated sexual battery charges last Friday for allegedly fondling a 12-year-old girl on the bus.
The 16-year-old was held over the weekend, and released to his parents on house arrest.
The teen, who is a student at Smyrna West, has also been ordered to stay away from the girl and prohibited from riding the bus.
The school system said the teen could possibly be expelled.
*NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Crews are investigating a fire that prompted an evacuation at a hotel on West End. Firefighters said a small fire started on the 4th floor at the Hampton Inn around 8 p.m.
About two dozen guests were moved outside while they dealt with the fire. One person who evacuated was about to call it a day when the alarm went off.
"Ten minutes later it went off again, we called again, and they said ‘yeah come on down.' They called again and said ‘go ahead and get out.' We grabbed what we could and came down," said Hampton Inn guest Bill Hurter.
Guests of the Hampton Inn have been moved to rooms that were not damaged by smoke and water. No one was injured.

According to a plea deal filed last week, prosecutors and Barrett agreed to a 27-month prison sentence. A judge will decide how long he serves and how much restitution he will have pay Andrews. Sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 22.
Barrett has admitted renting hotel rooms next to Andrews three times and shooting two videos of her while she was naked. He was accused of posting the videos online and trying to sell them to a celebrity gossip site this year.
*(AP) NEW YORK - A spokesman for Oral Roberts said the evangelist who rose from tent revivals to found a multimillion-dollar organization and an Oklahoma university bearing his name has died.

By the 1960s and '70s, the Oklahoma-born Roberts was reaching millions around the world through broadcasting, publications and personal appearances. Oral Roberts University, chartered in 1963, became a Tulsa landmark. He was 91.
*Hey, this is Fred from MediaTakeOut. Let's gossip.
Could Kanye and Amber be planning a secret wedding? Well we can't say for certain, but something is definitely up between those two.
I just learned that Kanye West has booked a bunch of villas at the Dominican Republic's Casa de Campo. That's the same place that Beyonce threw Jay Z's special 40th birthday party at.
All the rooms were booked for the same weekend in January. And according to our snitch, who is affiliated with the villa, Kanye paid for all the rooms himself. The insider told us, "It's some kind of event, and Kanye wanted to make sure there was privacy."
Hmm, sounds like something to us. And if it's a wedding, I just hope that between now and then Kanye wises up and gets himself a good lawyer and a better prenup.
*Olympic dater John Mayer is taking an indefinite break from hooking up.
The 32-year-old musician told Ellen DeGeneres yesterday, "I'm not dating. I don't know if you know this, but I have sort of a funny track record... I'm a little freaked out right now about it, to be honest. I'm just going to let time pass and just do my thing."
Mayer -- who's been romantically linked to Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Minka Kelly, among many others -- added, "I have a good heart. I think I may have gotten lost a couple of times, but so does everybody. I'm just going to hunker down. 2010 is a peaceful year for me, no matter what I do."
"GREG BRADY" GETS RESTRAINING ORDER AGAINST GIRLFRIEND"
*Something suddenly came up in Barry William's relationship with his girlfriend Elizabeth Kennedy -- and The Brady Bunch star wants her to stay far away.
The one-time "Greg Brady" claims his girlfriend threatened to kill herself and him after she lost a beauty contest. In legal documents, Barry says, "I know that she will definitely try to harm me once she is aware that our relationship is now over." The judge in the case has ordered Kennedy to stay 100 yards away from Barry and to move out of their apartment.
*The Peeping Tom who videotaped Erin Andrews pleaded guilty to interstate stalking yesterday in L-A.
Andrews, an E-S-P-N reporter, addressed the judge, saying, "I have nightmares about the sexual predator. I hope he never sees the light of day so no one else has to deal with this." Michael David Barrett, who taped Andrews naked in several hotel rooms, reportedly made a plea deal in which he'll get a 27-month sentence. He'll be sentenced on February 22nd.
*Bethenny Frankel has gotten butt-naked for PETA.
The Real Housewives of New York star adorns a billboard near Manhattan's Times Square with the caption "Fur? I'd Rather Go Naked." She tells the New York Post she was pregnant when she took the revealing photo. "It's so tasteful and beautifully done. I am especially pleased because it doesn't look like there's been any airbrushing and I was already pregnant when I shot it." But Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice had a much different reaction to the ad. She twittered, "To quote Bethenny: 'I just threw up a little in my mouth.'"
*On December 16th, 1973, the Buffalo Bills' O-J Simpson set an N-F-L record of 2003 rushing yards in one season. Before he became famous for being a murder suspect in the 1995 slaying of his second wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, O-J was one of the most celebrated figures in sports. His record stood for 11 years.
*CHICAGO (Dec. 15) -- The gold coins have arrived in much the same manner every year for the past four years: An anonymous donor dropped each one into a Salvation Army kettle somewhere in Fort Myers, Fla.
Each coin was tucked inside a small plastic case with a neatly handwritten note that said simply, "In memory of Mimi."
Every holiday season, such acts of generosity raise intriguing questions about the mysterious unknown donors. These "secret Santas" provide gifts ranging from plates of cookies to substantial piles of cash, and they are not in it for the glory or even the tax write-off. Many go to great lengths to keep their identities cloaked.
"It's a little magical, isn't it?" says Mary Davidson, who oversees a small group of anonymous donors known publicly only as the "Dream Team" at the Society of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. The group grants wishes to adults who are seriously ill, much like the Make-A-Wish Foundation does for children.
Each Christmas, they also secretly send holiday gifts and dinner with all the trimmings to a needy patient and family.
Last year, a convenience store manager outside Little Rock, Ark., bought clothing, toys and a few small Christmas gifts for a struggling family.
The mother of the family, whose husband had lost his job, could not believe the unsolicited generosity.
Not all donors are in it for the recognition. Thousands of Americans chose to make philanthropic gifts anonymously, from the person who drops valuable coins into Salvation Army kettles to the investment banker who cheers herself up by choosing projects to fund on DonorsChoose.org.
Queen Pen knows she was dead wrong for stepping out the crib looking the hottest of hot messes. We know her stacks are probably on negative $50,000 and she’s no longer rapping, but DAMN! The orange & red hair with the titays about to bust out the equally bright ass shirt, and the Kool Moe Dee space shades.
