PRESIDENT OBAMA NEWS
President Obama went on the offensive last night, telling Congress that "the time for bickering is over" and it was time to pass healthcare reform. Obama told the chamber, "I am not the first president to take up this cause, but I am determined to be the last." The President outlined his proposal in a 47-minute speech. Obama took aim at his critics who've accused his plans of creating "government death panels," calling their accusations "bogus." "Such a charge would be laughable if it weren't so cynical and irresponsible. It is a lie, plain and simple."
There was also a moment when decorum was broken by a member of the opposition Republicans. Representative Joe Wilson of South Carolina shouted "you lie" and "not true" when the President said his plans would not cover illegal immigrants or abortions. Republican leadership quickly condemned Wilson's outburst, and Wilson apologized.
The recession appears to be ending. According to a newly released survey of businesses conducted by the Federal Reserve Bank, 11 of the 12 Fed regions indicated that economic activity was either "stable," was showing "signs of stabilization" or had "firmed." Only the St. Louis region reported that the economic downturn was "moderating." Analysts are estimating that the economy is growing in the current quarter at a rate of three- to four-percent annually.

CHRIS BROWN AND RIHANNA HOOKING UP IN MEXICO
Chris Brown and Rihanna -- who are legally banned from seeing each other -- are planning to reunite in Mexico, where the stipulation doesn't apply. A source tells the U-K edition of Star magazine, "They spoke to their lawyers to see what was allowed, and are now planning two weeks in Mexico. They want to spend some quality time together and know they have a lot to reconcile before they can make their relationship public again. Rihanna's desperate not to let her fans down as she's had such support from them." Reps for neither star returned our calls for comment.
CHARLIE SHEEN IS COO COO FOR COCOA COCOA PUFFS
Charlie Sheen is demanding a sit-down with President Obama to discuss the actor's belief that the 9-11 attacks were perpetrated by the federal government.
But before the White House could even give the actor -- and passionate conspiracy theorist -- an answer, Charlie wrote a fictional account of the meeting. In Twenty Minutes With the President, Charlie argues that "the official 9-11 story is a fraud" and claims the attacks served as "the pretext for the systematic dismantling of our Constitution and Bill of Rights."
SOUTH AFRICAN RUNNER GETS NEW LOOK
Caster Semenya -- the South African runner at the center of a gender controversy -- gets a feminine makeover for the cover of South Africa's You magazine. Sporting a wavy short do in place of her usual cornrows, dark nail polish, gold jewelry and a black cocktail dress, she tells the B-B-C, "I'd like to dress up more often and wear dresses but I never get the chance. I am who I am and I'm proud of myself."
The results of Semenya's gender test are expected in the next two weeks.
MAY THERE BE A SPECIAL PLACE IN HELL FOR YOU!!
Two men are being accused of killing a 14-month-old girl with a baseball bat in church – all because her father owed them $20.
David Collins, 50, and Darryl Kennedy, 42, both from Minnesota, were charged with murder and assault, respectively. According to police, David got into an argument last Wednesday with Claude Hankins about $20 that Claude supposedly owed for a washer and dryer.
On Thursday, David and his friend Darryl confronted Claude in church, where he was attending a prayer service for a sick church member – and they were carrying a baseball bat.
The two cowards stepped to Claude while he was trying to seat his daughter Aundrea, and began swinging the bat at them. Claude grabbed a metal chair to protect himself and his daughter. Unfortunately the bat struck the poor girl in the head above her right ear.
Despite doctors best attempts to save young Aundrea, she was pronounced dead at a hospital in Fargo, N.D.
These two deserve to be UNDER the jail.
