The MLK Memorial...But Wait Let's Not Forget A Few Things About Him!!

Today as we celebrate the MLK memorial, let's not forget a few things:

1)  Despite the "Santa Claus-Like" imagery the media tries to put on this great man today, MLK was a hated man in this country!

2)  MLK's non-violent approach was not liked by liberals and was called a communism by conservatives.

3)  MLK was a troublemaker, he was confrontational, a rebel rouser, and a leader of civil discourse (He'd be on Wall Street right now)!

4)  MLK forced change into this country with his activism and leadership.  He wasn't putting out BOOKS, doing seminars, and "making nice".  The CHANGE he created was unfortunately written in blood!  His CHANGE came at the cost of sweat, tears, and life!

CHANGE...that's a really Big Word!  So today we memorialize a really BIG Man.  A Giant.  Who moved a nation and inspired a world of Change.

Let his statue stand in the heart of this country forever. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. "in his B-Boy Stance"!  Full of life, purpose, and enduring hope!

So as the historical revisionsist try to paint him into this caricature of a "Black Super Hero" that swooped down from Morehouse College to save The Negroes, let's remember that he was a man of flesh and blood.  With a wife, kids and a burning desire to see things change...let's just hope those same revisionist don't try to shoot the nose off of this "Sphinx"..Ya Dig?

He forced change in Alabama and Mississippi but the rest of the country was already desegregating, including D.C. well before the Civil Rights movement got under way (starting with the Montgomery Bus Boycott).

I wish folks celebrated Booker T. Washington and AG Gaston the same way, we would be better off today as a group.
