Having a certain size ring doesn't matter and if a woman only cares about that something is wrong, should you marry her? The fact that this man wants to provide stablity, a place for you to lay your head, that you can call your own should be the most important thing.

Get married, purchase the house and get a ring that costs whatever.

It's the thought behind it not the price tag on the ring

I think any woman that can't marry without a ring is materialistic. Since when did marriage become about a piece of jewelry...that most women just want to show off to family and friends? I would rather be able to show my friends and family that my man has his priorities straight and that he can provide enough to put a roof over my head first and foremost.

So many individuals have their own opinions of this. I say lets get the house first and after we get settled in we can purchase a ring within a reasonable amount and then have the wedding/reception party at home with all our friends and family that would like to share this moment with us. A ring does not prove a marriage. It's only a material stone while a MARRIAGE takes a lifetime of communication and understanding between each other.

I would rather have the nice big house. You can always get large diamonds as your incomes increase.
