Legendary West Coast rapper and N.W.A collaborator The D.O.C. has apparently regained his voice after a severe car accident in 1989 crushed his vocal cords.
The D.O.C. worked on N.W.A. and Eazy-E's debut albums, contributing lyrics and vocals to both as a ghostwriter for Ruthless Records. His own debut album, the Dr. Dre-produced No One Can Do It Better, was a critically acclaimed, painfully underheard moment in West Coast rap that didn't get its time in the sun due to the aforementioned accident, which occurred only five months after the album's release. Now, it seems that the D.O.C. might be gearing up for a comeback, and he's keeping an open mind.
It will likely be a long process, one that we won't be seeing the fruits of for a while, but that's no reason not to be excited about the resurrection of a legend.
