Tennessee's highest court has put all executions on hold.
That decision from the Tennessee Supreme Court came as death row inmates continue to challenge the constitutionality of the state's methods of execution.
Four inmates still had execution dates, but the high court issued stays in those cases in an order filed Friday.
A Davidson County chancellor has been considering a challenge of Tennessee's new lethal injection protocol.
In May, the Supreme Court itself will hear an appeal filed by state attorneys. They want the court to rule that inmates don't have a right to challenge Tennessee's plans to use the electric chair as a back-up.
The Supreme Court said it would reset execution dates once those challenges have been resolved. WTVF
