T-PAIN: Makes Controversial Comments on Aaliyah

T-Pain has been working hard on his big comeback, but some questionable comments the hit-maker recently made during a listening session have some fans more interested in an apology than a new album.

T-Pain recently dropped a new mixtape, The Iron Way, which was expected to feature a song called "Girlfriend," with vocals from the late Aaliyah. After previewing the track last week at a listening session, it was ultimately scrapped from the album's final tracklist. It seems controversial comments made by Pain at the listening session could be the reason why.

During the listening session, he said, “I’m not trying to discredit Aaliyah in any kind of way. But you know how sometimes when people die... You know how somebody’s a [jerk] their whole life, but when you go to their funeral it’s like ‘This guy was the greatest man that ever walked…’... No, I’m not saying Aaliyah. But it’s like because she passed, nobody is deserving of being next to her...If she was still alive, then everybody would’ve been like, ‘Oh! She’s tryna be Beyoncé!’" (Styleite)

Quickies:

He should have considered the audience and the venue and kept his comments to himself.

All due respect to the dead, but T-Pain is actually making a valid point.

Nobody knows how Aaliyah would have fared in today's music climate, but you could imagine the Beyoncé comparisons.
