A new study from Northwestern University has found that white people seem to sleep longer at night, have a better quality of sleep and experience less daytime sleepiness than blacks, Latinos or Asians. 

Study author Mercedes R. Carnethon says, “We found that black adults have the worst quality of sleep, and Asians experience the highest amount of daytime sleepiness."

The study, which included more than 500 men and women randomly selected from the Chicago area, found that whites averaged 7.4 hours of sleep per day, while Asians averaged 6.9, Hispanics 6.9 and Blacks 6.8.
