STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON: Extra Security at Some Theaters

If you're planning on going to the movie theater this weekend to see Straight Outta Compton, you may notice some extra security in the theater.

Universal Pictures, the studio behind the N.W.A. biopic, says it is paying to provide extra security personnel at some theaters "who have requested support for their locations." Universal has not disclosed which theaters it is providing security to, but it's believed to be theaters in large cities. (Billboard)

Say What:

    The beefed up security comes at a sensitive time when we've been seeing an increase in movie theater violence.

    Security was also increased around the release of other movies with gang themes, such as Boyz n the Hood and Menace II Society.
