The City of Nashville mourns the loss of it's Field General, Father, Friend, and all around good guy, STEVE MCNAIR.

Killed today by a gunshot wound to the head.

Information is flurrying about the murder, but it appears to be a murder-suicide at the hands of a female acquaintance according to police sources.

I will hit you with the details as things develop...

Damn...My heart is heavy for his family and our great city~~~

May his soul rest in peace. I send my condolsence to his family and friends. May God continue to carry Michele and the boys. I know what its like raising my son without his father. We have to keep in mind that we all have a heavenly father who cares.

Hopefully, men and women will learn from this. Everything happens for a reason. My prayers go out to his family and team mates.

THIS IS A TREMENDOUS LOSS AND MY HEART GOES OUT TO HIS WIFE AND CHILDREN. WHO ARE WE TO JUDGE WHEN WE ALL AT ONE TIME HAVE FALLEN SHORT? BUT WE MUST REALIZE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A MISTAKE AND A DECISION OR CHOICE. OUR DECISIONS AND CHOICES ALWAYS AFFECT MORE THAN JUST OURSELVES. THERE ARE ALWAYS CONSEQUENCES BEHIND EVERY DECISION WE MAKE, SO IN THE NAME OF JESUS, PLEASE PRAY THAT WE ALL (THINK) BEFORE WE ACT!!

I too am saddened by this tragic incident. I already had a heavy heart with the passing of Michael Jackson and now this. I pray for his immediate family and extended football family. Let us remember how Steve excelled in his athletic career as one of a few African-American quarterbacks in the NFL, for the Houston Oilers, the Tennessee Oilers, and our mighty TENNESSEE TITANS our first NFL team in Tennessee history!!!!!!!! Let us remember the good things he did for the Nashville community and for his community back HOME. Rest in peace...

Steve McNair was an awesome football player and all around guy. He was not perfect but had a good heart. My prayers go out to his wife, sons, mother and the entire family. He will truly be missed by the Nashville community.
