Last week was rough for people in Palestine, Texas, as heavy rains caused severe flooding that devastated the area.
Well, Palestine happens to be the hometown of Minnesota Vikings star running back Adrian Peterson, so Peterson decided to donate $100,000 to help those affected by the floods.
Not only that, he also pledges to match any donations made to the Salvation Army. Peterson says he feels an obligation to both open his checkbook and use his fame to encourage fans to pitch in to help the people there who were hit especially hard by the storm.
Anyone interested in participating in the fundraising campaign just needs to text “AP28” to 51555 to donate. (Star Tribune)
