Shooting at "Movies In The Park" - Centennial...WOW!

A Goodlettsville boy was shot at "Movies in the Park" at Centennial Park as the event concluded Wednesday Night.  Witnesses say that several groups started throwing up gang signs before the violence erupted.

 

Jackie Jones, spokeswoman for Metro Parks, said 23 officers were patrolling the park, there were six mounted units, one "skywatch" tower and two ATVs. She said park police and the director of Metro Parks are discussing what happened and what, if anything, needs to change.

 

Chris Ferrell, CEO of Southcomm, the parent company of the Nashville Scene, said the magazine would work with police and evaluate logistics, given what happened. The Nashville Scene sponsors the event, which has been around for 16 years. He said there were only about 10 people -- staffers and cleanup contractors -- at the park when the shooting happened.

 

Kenny Says:  It ain't even summer yet, and these lil dudes are acting a donkey already!  Do you really think that Metro is gonna let yall shoot up "Movies in the Park"?  They've been doing this event forever and I am sure they won't let some dang gangbanger ruin it for the entire city.  You can look for Metro to get REAL HEAVY-HANDED in the coming weeks because of a few dumb ass kids!!  And yes...THEY WERE BLACK KIDS!!!

 

Maybe we need a law where Bad Parent go to jail WITH their bad ass kids!  I think this will cut down on the number of violent crimes done by youth in our city....Thoughts?
