Old-school hip-hop fans were out in full force on Monday night to see Salt-n-Pepa, Slick Rick and Naughty by Nature perform for free at Brooklyn, New York's Wingate Park. Salt joked, "Everybody came out tonight, huh -- it's free, I know."
- Slick Rick warmed the crowd up with a tour of his hits such as "La Di Da Di," "Hey Young World" and "Children's Story."
- Naughty by Nature turned up the energy level by coming out with "O.P.P." and closing with "Hip Hop Hooray." At the end of the set, Treach joked, "Y'all know my baby mama's (Pepa) up next!"
- Salt-n-Pepa ran through their hits -- "What a Man," "Stomp" and "Let's Talk About Sex" -- alongside background dancers, which is a rare sight in hip-hop these days.
- They brought Busta Rhymes out mid-set to perform "Put Ya Hands (Where My Eyes Can See)," sending the crowd into a frenzy.
Overall the crowd seemed to enjoy the hip-hop pioneers, and at bare minimum, they got their money's worth.
