Robin Thicke - "I Was High All Last Year"...Uh...DUHHHH!‏

Robin Thicke says he was high during every interview he gave last year and claims addiction is the real reason Paula Patton left him. Those revelations — any many more — are contained in transcripts from the lawsuit by Marvin Gaye’s estate against Thicke and Pharrell Williams over whether “Blurred Lines” ripped off Gaye’s “Got to Give It Up.”

The Hollywood Reporter got their hands on the transcripts after a Los Angeles judge ruled they should not be sealed, which led us to these nuggets:

  • Thicke "didn’t do a sober interview" last year, including his appearance on Oprah, during which he was drunk and high on Vicodin. Thicke adds that he told Patton "the truth" about his problems and "that’s why she left me."
  • Thicke now says he didn’t contribute to the writing of “Blurred Lines,” despite his co-writing credit. He says, "I tried to take credit for it later because [Pharrell] wrote the whole thing pretty much by himself and I was envious of that."
  • So why did Pharrell give Thicke credit, entitling him to a portion of the publishing royalties? As he explained in his deposition, "This is what happens every day in our industry. People are made to look like they have much more authorship in the situation than they actually do."

You can read the deposition, which was given in April, in its entirety here: http://goo.gl/YUg0wY

Is this Robin's backhanded way of throwing Pharrell under the bus? If he admits he didn't write "Blurred Lines," then maybe he won't be responsible for damages if they lose the suit.  Wooowwwwww!  That's some Dirty Isssh Right Thurr!

Oprah is not going to be happy to know Robin was high when he sat on her couch.
