Reverend Al Sharpton Smokes A Cigar With The Cigar Crew of Nashville

The Rev. Al Shapton, civil rights/social media activist and White House advisor, was in town yesterday (Thursday, October 23) to speak at Tennessee State University about the push for the 1957 -1959 basketball team to inducted into the hall of fame. The activist also spoke about self respect, confidence and students aspiring to greatness.

When Mr. Sharpton was finished with his speaking engagement where did he go? He went to have a cigar at the Smoker's Abbey (604 Gallatin Road Suite 102).

The Smoker's Abbey is  East Nashville's premium cigar lounge, offering handrolled cigars from some of the best boutique companies in the world and the home to The Southern Fried Pipe Club, building community around the fine art of pipe smoking.

And guess who was there watching the Broncos beat the Chargers: The Cigar Crew Nashville

The Cigar Crew Nashville is a group for those cigar enthusiasts and those who are interest in becoming one. They enjoy great Cigars, great Cocktails, great Conversation, and hanging with cool people.

We were there to watch the football game when Rev. Sharpton came into the lounge. All attention went from the game to talking to the civil rights icon who has fought so many battles for justice and equality.  He very graciously answered questions about different topics (i.e. races matters and Mike Brown) while smoking his cigar.

And until last night I did not know how small he really is. He has lost a lot of weight! But he had the hair laid. LOL!

He only stayed for a short amount of time because he had to get on the road early in the morning.

It was truly an honor to meet him.

If you are a cigar aficionado and would like to join the group, look up "The Cigar Crew Nashville" on Facebook and request to join.
