Antioch Church Road in Christian County Kentucky has more corn than homes but authorities say one of them hid a serious problem Thursday morning.
"Deputies describe the house as being in disarray, dirty trash, dirty laundry. Thought the house hadn't been cleaned up in some time," said Christian County Captain Chris Miller.
Cpt. Miller says the home's condition was only part of it.
He says inside were two boys ages 4 and 6 and their 2 year old sister home alone.
Miller says the children had been there at least an hour maybe longer.
Deputies found the children's mother Tracie Craft at a home down the road.
"If there's not an adult there to take care of the children, there's a million different things that can happen, which is why this isn't allowed in the state of Kentucky," said Miller.
Craft now faces 3 misdemeanor charges of Endangering the Welfare of a Minor.
Her husband James Craft made the call to authorities after returning from working out of state.
He says he made the call for her well being.
"From my belief, my wife has been abusing prescription drugs for some time," said James Craft. "That's not my wife. The drugs control her as far as I can tell. I had to get her some help somehow."
